Wundercamera

Re-curation of the Wundercamera exhibition
by Hayley Johnson and Natalie Meer (Part 3/6)

The re-curation of Richard Ross enabled greater spacing between the series altering the overall aesthetic of the work. The eight images were situated in-between four of the Camera Obscured series. This allowed for a new reading of the images as both explore notions of the past and behind the scenes of museum settings. Ross's contemporary approach of documenting worn museum spaces and artefacts, forms an interesting contrast with the scenes in the photographs from the museum archives.
