STUDENT OPPORTUNITY

Plaque Prize

The Plaque Prize is an annual open call for Manchester School of Art students to propose a work which is designed to fit in the now-vacant frame (pictured here previous winning work by Rebecca Howard), and this year's winning artwork will be on show for the duration of the year.

2020 was a significant year in many ways that required us to: alter, adjust, adapt, amend, improve, change, convert, revise, reform, reshape, rework, reconstruct, refine, vary, transform, metamorphose, evolve.

We are looking for proposals for the plaque that responds to these concepts of transition and change.

To apply please submit a proposal (maximum 2 sides of A4) with the following requirements:

  • The proposed work needs to fit the frame dimensions which are; 54cm height x 57cm width x 2cm depth
  • A detailed description of what the work is, and preparatory sketches or example images of your practice
  • Any material costs required to realise the final piece

We welcome submissions from any medium.

Please send proposals to Zoe Watson at z.watson@mmu.ac.uk, Curator of the Holden Gallery.
